Riding on the heels of her infamous $20,000 Le Cirque meal comes another shocker. The Washington Post’s Reliable Source page reports on the 5th of August 2009 that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and an entourage of about 65 people (including security and food tasters) racked up a tab of $15,000 at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse in Washington D.C. hours after meeting with President Obama on July 30.

Says the newsbit, “The Reliable Source has learned that the group took over one of the restaurant’s private rooms and dined on lobster, steak and fine wines; at the conclusion of the meal, an unidentified woman opened a handbag stuffed with cash, counted out bills and paid the $15,000 (PhP 750,000) tab–which included a generous tip. The Philippine Embassy did not return calls for comment Tuesday.”

COMMENTS FROM THE CRITICS:

FYI:
There are a lot of affordable places in New York. They should have just chosen to eat at Serendipity 3 or any other restaurants that not as expensive as Le Cirque. It’s not a question of where they ate it’s actually an issue of how much they spent on 1 meal with her whole entourage. She is a VIP since she is a President but $20000 really?? If they could have just minimized the cost and spent a modest amount of money on champagne and caviar this would be a none issue.

Since you are talking about incentives, the president is a public servant and like any other worker/employee her incentive is her salary and any other allowances she gets from her position. PLUS the fact that she CHOSE to run as a President and therefore accepts all the crap that comes with it.

From your statement above you are implying that you are ok with corruption probably because you like many other Filipinos choose to make light of the issue that the money they are spending are meant for the improvement of our country. You are ok with the $20k meal but not with the Hermes bag BUT it’s still the same; corruption is still corruption whatever form it takes like the lesser evil is still evil.

That’s exactly the mentality we need to erase so that we can spare at least spare the next generation this apathy we have for our country

At the very least they should have gone to a Filipino Restaurant to promote Philippine food which could filter down to farmers producing the ingredients used. Ok not all ingredients could be procured from the Philippines but promote Philippine cuisine at least, para masabing working visit, but then of course with the legendary insensitivity of GMA and her cohorts no body would have thought of eating in a Filipino restaurant in the New York. Le Cirque para my taste of heaven daw, dapat nga seguro because the chance for real heaven is zero when their own time comes.

wow! GMA should join the pool of writer in food and dine magazine or food blogger instead.. she practically knows the whereabouts of the best and most expensive food in the world.. way to go GMA! You will have a bright future there rather than managing a country again.. and advice your hubby to stop eating steaks.. red meat is not good for the heart..

MY OWN OPINION:

All I can is, Gloria has a thick face!

IN FACT: Poll based on the New York’s Post (as of 15th of August 2009)

Was it wrong for GMA and her entourage to have dined at Le Cirque for $20,000?

Yes, regardless of who paid, it was in bad taste for the president of a poor country.
(65.5%, 148 votes)

Yes, the fact that a congressman paid makes it look like a political favor.
(14.6%, 33 votes)

No, she’s a head of state, where should she have eaten–Burger King?
(10.2%, 23 votes)

No, she didn’t use the taxpayers’ money. She can eat

María Corazón “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino (born January 25, 1933) is a former President of the Philippines and a world-renowned advocate of democracy, peace, women’s empowerment, and religious piety. She served as the 11th president of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of the Philippines and was Asia’s first female president.

VERY ILL!
The 76-year-old democracy icon was admitted to the intensive care unit last week after she stopped eating, spokeswoman Deedee Sytangco told The Associated Press.

Aquino, who has been fighting stage-four colon cancer, was receiving nourishment in the hospital, Sytangco said.

The former leader was “not very well,” but was not in pain and had not been placed on life support, she said.

Aquino was diagnosed with the disease last year. She had been undergoing chemotherapy, but was no longer receiving treatment, Sytangco said.

“We hope that people will support her and pray for her,” Sytangco said.

Aquino was a humble homemaker propelled to politics by the 1983 assassination of her husband, opposition leader Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino. She later led a peaceful uprising in 1986 that toppled late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and became a harbinger of nonviolent protests around the world.

She stepped down in 1992 but remained active in social and political causes. Before her illness, she joined protest rallies calling for the resignation of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo over allegations of vote-rigging and corruption.

Members of her former Cabinet and other supporters gathered Wednesday in a church near the hospital in Manila’s financial district of Makati where Aquino was admitted to offer prayers for her recovery.

TRIBUTE:
Self-effacing by nature, Cory Aquino has characteristically shared the credit for the many accolades that she has received for leadership, international understanding and her commitment to freedom and democracy. Named, among others, as “Woman of the Year” by Time magazine in 1986 and “Filipino of the Century” by the Philippines Free Press in 2000, and conferred over 20 honorary doctorates, she has kept her feet firmly on the ground. In her view, the limelight belongs to her martyred husband, to the courageous people who carried her on their shoulders and, above all, to God. This theme runs across much of the articles written about her, including the reflections shared during the inaugural symposium of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Center for Leadership in November 2004.

SYNOPSIS:
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave…escaping seconds before Nick’s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one–in increasingly gruesome ways–Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular “Final Destination” series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he made his debut as an entertainer in 1968 as a member of The Jackson 5. He then began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group and was referred to as the “King of Pop” in subsequent years. Jackson’s 1982 album Thriller remains the world’s best-selling album of all time, and four of his other solo studio albums are among the world’s best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in American popular music and culture. He was the first African American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as “Beat It“, “Billie Jean” and “Thriller“—widely credited with transforming the music video from a promotional tool into an art form—helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as “Black or White” and “Scream” made Jackson an enduring staple on MTV in the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced many hip hop, pop music and contemporary R&B artists across several generations.

Jackson donated and raised millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his Heal the World Foundation, charity singles, and support of 39 charities. Other aspects of his personal life, including his often changing appearances and eccentric behavior, generated significant controversy that damaged his public image. Though he was accused of child sexual abuse in 1993, the criminal investigation was closed due to lack of evidence and Jackson was not charged. The singer had experienced health concerns since the early 1990s along with conflicting reports regarding the state of his finances since the late 1990s. Jackson married twice and fathered three children, actions which caused further controversy. In 2005, during People v. Jackson, Jackson was tried and acquitted of different sexual abuse allegations and several other charges.

One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”—thirteen Grammy Awards, thirteen number one singles in his solo career, and the sale of 750 million records worldwide. At the time of his death, Jackson was preparing for This Is It, a series of 50 concerts that would have been held at The O2 arena in London at the beginning of July 13, 2009.

Life and Career

1958–75: Early life and The Jackson 5

Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, an industrial suburb of Chicago. The son of African-American parents Joseph Walter “Joe” Jackson and Katherine Esther Scruse, he was the seventh of nine children. His siblings are Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Randy and Janet. Joseph Jackson was a steel mill employee who often performed in an R&B band called The Falcons with his brother Luther. Jackson was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness by his devout mother. Joseph Jackson has an additional daughter named Joh Vonnie Jackson who is actually the youngest sibling of Michael Jackson.

Jackson stated that he was physically and emotionally abused by his father from a young age, enduring incessant rehearsals, whippings and name-calling. However, he also credited his father’s strict discipline as playing a large part in his success. In one altercation—later recalled by Marlon Jackson—Joseph held Michael upside down by one leg and “pummeled him over and over again with his hand, hitting him on his back and buttocks”. Joseph would also trip or push his male children into walls. One night while Jackson was asleep, Joseph climbed into his room through the bedroom window. Wearing a fright mask, he entered the room screaming and shouting. Joseph said he wanted to teach his children not to leave the window open when they went to sleep. For years afterwards, Jackson said he suffered nightmares about being kidnapped from his bedroom. In 2003, Joseph admitted to the BBC that he had whipped Jackson as a child.

Jackson first spoke openly about his childhood abuse in a 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey. He said that during his childhood he often cried from loneliness and would sometimes start to vomit upon seeing his father. In Jackson’s other high profile interview, Living with Michael Jackson (2003), the singer covered his face with his hand and began crying when talking about his childhood abuse. Jackson recalled that Joseph sat in a chair with a belt in his hand as he and his siblings rehearsed and that “if you didn’t do it the right way, he would tear you up, really get you”.

Jackson showed musical talent early in his life, performing in front of classmates and others during a Christmas recital at the age of five. In 1964, Jackson and Marlon joined the Jackson Brothers—a band formed by brothers Jackie, Tito and Jermaine—as backup musicians playing congas and tambourine, respectively. Jackson later began performing backup vocals and dancing; at the age of eight, he and Jermaine assumed lead vocals, and the group’s name was changed to The Jackson 5. The band toured the Midwest extensively from 1966 to 1968. In what would turn out to be the apex of his career, the album remained in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for 80 consecutive weeks, 37 at the peak. Seven singles from Thriller concurrently hit the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, including “Billie Jean“, “Beat It” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin‘”. Thriller went on to sell upwards of 109 million copies, making it the best-selling album of all time, causing Jackson biographer <a title="J.
The period of Thriller was an extraordinarily lucrative one for Jackson, whose lawyer John Branca had negotiated what he boasted then as the highest royalty rate ever in the music industry, approximately $2 per album. Meanwhile, Jackson raked in profits from The Making of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, a documentary by Jackson and John Landis which quickly sold over 350,000 copies.
Beyond its record-breaking success among fans, Thriller instituted multiple changes within the music industry. First, it raised the importance of albums, while challenging notions about how many prospective hits an album should contain. Second, it restored to the industry a sense of confidence in its ability to release high-level artistry during a time when profits had been sinking due to what one industry analyst called “the ruins of punk and the chic regions of synthesizer pop”. Third, it helped bring MTV into its heyday, even as MTV helped fuel Thriller’s success.
While working with Paul McCartney on the two hit singles “The Girl Is Mine” and “Say Say Say“, the pair became friendly, occasionally visiting one another. In one discussion, McCartney told Jackson about the millions of dollars he had made from music catalogs; he was earning approximately $40 million a year from other people’s songs. Jackson then began a business career buying, selling and distributing publishing rights to music from numerous artists. Shortly afterwards, ATV Songs—a music catalogue holding thousands of songs, including most of the songs written by Lennon-McCartney between 1963–1973—was put up for sale.

Jackson took immediate interest in the catalog but was warned that he would face strong competition. Excited, he skipped around saying, “I don’t care. I want those songs. Get me those songs Branca [his attorney]“. Branca then contacted the attorney of McCartney, who clarified that his client was not interested in bidding; “It’s too pricey”. After Jackson had started negotiations, McCartney changed his mind and tried to persuade Yoko Ono to join him in a joint bid, she declined, so he pulled out. Jackson eventually beat the rest of the competition in negotiations that lasted 10 months, purchasing the catalog for $47.5 million. When McCartney found out he said, “I think it’s dodgy to do things like that. To be someone’s friend and then buy the rug they’re standing on”.

When Jackson bought a pet chimpanzee called Bubbles, it was reported as an example of increasing detachment from reality. In 2003, the singer claimed that Bubbles had been trained to use the toilet and to clean his own bedroom. Later, it was reported that Jackson bought the bones of The Elephant Man. Although untrue, it was a story that Jackson again disseminated to the tabloid press. These stories inspired the pejorative nickname “Wacko Jacko”, which Jackson acquired the following year. He would eventually come to despise the nickname. Realizing his mistake, he stopped leaking untruths to the press. However due to the profit being made, the media began making up their own stories.

Jackson’s skin was a medium-brown color for the entire duration of his youth, but starting in the early 1980s, his skin gradually grew paler. This change gained widespread media coverage, including rumors that Jackson was bleaching his skin. In the mid-1980s, Jackson was diagnosed with vitiligo and lupus; the latter was in remission in Jackson’s case, and both illnesses made him sensitive to sunlight. The treatments he used for his condition further lightened his skin tone, and, with the application of pancake makeup to even out blotches, he could appear very pale. The structure of his face changed as well; several surgeons have speculated that Jackson had undergone multiple nasal surgeries, a forehead lift, thinned lips and a cheekbone surgery. Changes to his face were, in part, due to periods of significant weight loss. Jackson lost weight in the early 1980s because of a change in diet and a desire for “a dancer’s body”. Witnesses reported that Jackson was often dizzy and speculated that he was suffering from anorexia nervosa; periods of weight loss would become a recurring problem for the singer later in life. Some medical professionals have publicly stated their belief that the singer had body dysmorphic disorder, a psychological condition whereby the sufferer has no concept of how he is perceived by others.

One of Jackson’s most acclaimed performances came during the halftime show at Super Bowl XXVII.
Jackson was accused of child sexual abuse by a 13-year-old child named Jordan Chandler and his father Evan Chandler. The friendship between Jackson and Evan Chandler broke down. Sometime afterwards, Evan Chandler was tape-recorded saying amongst other things, “If I go through with this, I win big-time. There’s no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever…Michael’s career will be over”. A year after they had met, under the influence of sodium amytal, a controversial sedative, Jordan Chandler told his father that Jackson had touched his penis. Evan Chandler and Jackson, represented by their legal teams, then engaged in unsuccessful negotiations to resolve the issue in a financial settlement; the negotiations were initiated by Chandler but Jackson did make several counter offers. Jordan Chandler then told a psychiatrist and later police that he and Jackson had engaged in acts of kissing, masturbation and oral sex, as well as giving a detailed description of what he alleged were the singer’s genitals.

An official investigation began, with Jordan Chandler’s mother adamant that there was no wrongdoing on Jackson’s part. Neverland Ranch was searched; multiple children and family members denied that he was a pedophile. Jackson’s image took a further turn for the worse when his older sister La Toya Jackson accused him of being a pedophile, a statement she later retracted. Jackson agreed to a 25-minute strip search, conducted at his ranch. The search was required to see if a description provided by Jordan Chandler was accurate. Doctors concluded that there were some strong similarities, but it was not a definitive match. Jackson made an emotional public statement on the events; he proclaimed his innocence, criticized what he perceived as biased media coverage and told of his strip search.

Jackson began taking painkillers, Valium and Ativan to help him cope with chronic pain a consequence to an accident involving the collapse of stage rigging during the Dangerous Tour and for joint inflammation from Lupus. Jackson started taking Xanax for panic attacks and stress stemming from the allegations made against him of child abuse. By the fall of 1993, Jackson was addicted to the drugs. His health deteriorated to the extent that he canceled the remainder of the Dangerous World Tour and went into drug rehabilitation for a few months. The stress of the allegations also caused Jackson to stop eating, and he lost a significant amount of weight. With his health in decline, Jackson’s friends and legal advisers took over his defense and finances; they called on him to settle the allegations out of court, believing that he could not endure a lengthy trial.

Tabloid reaction to the allegations put Jackson in an unfavorable light. Complaints about the coverage and media included everything from bias against Jackson, accepting stories of alleged criminal activity for money to accepting confidential leaked material from the police investigation in return for money paid. On January 1, 1994, Jackson settled with the Chandler family and their legal team out of court, in a civil lawsuit for $22 million. After the settlement Jordan Chandler refused to continue with police regarding criminal proceedings. Jackson was never charged, and the state closed its criminal investigation, citing lack of evidence.

In May 1994, Jackson married singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley. As child molestation accusations became public, Jackson became dependent on Lisa Marie for emotional support; she was concerned about his faltering health and addiction to drugs. Lisa Marie explained, “I believed he didn’t do anything wrong and that he was wrongly accused and yes I started falling for him. I wanted to save him. I felt that I could do it.” In a phone call he made to her, she described him as high, incoherent and delusional. Shortly afterwards, she tried to persuade Jackson to settle the allegations out of court and go into rehabilitation to recover—he subsequently did both. Jackson proposed to Lisa Marie over the telephone towards the fall of 1993, saying, “If I asked you to marry me, would you do it?”. Presley and Jackson married in the Dominican Republic in secrecy; the parties denied they had been married for nearly two months. The marriage was, in her words, “a married couple’s life … that was sexually active”. At the time, the tabloid media speculated that the wedding was a ploy to prop up Jackson’s public image in light of prior sexual abuse allegations. Jackson and Presley divorced less than two years later, remaining friendly.

The ADL complained and Jackson responded by saying he would re-record the lyrics before the album went into production.
2000–02: Label Dispute, Invincible and Third Child

In 2000, Jackson was listed in the book of Guinness World Records for his support of 39 charities, more than any other entertainer or personality. At the time, Jackson was waiting for the licenses to the masters of his albums to revert to him; this allowed him to promote his old material how he liked and prevented Sony from getting a cut of the profit. Jackson expected this to occur early in the new millennium, however, due to the fine print and various clauses in the contract, this revert date is still many years away. Jackson began an investigation, and it emerged that the attorney who represented the singer in the deal was also representing Sony, creating a conflict of interest. Jackson was also concerned about another conflict of interest. For a number of years, Sony had been pushing to buy all of Jackson’s share in their music catalog venture. If Jackson’s career or financial situation were to deteriorate, he would have to sell his catalog. Thus, Sony had something to gain from Jackson’s career failing. Jackson was able to use these conflicts as leverage to exit his contract early. Just before the release of Invincible, Jackson informed the head of Sony Music Entertainment, Tommy Mottola, that he was leaving Sony. As a result, all singles releases, video shootings and promotions concerning the Invincible album were canceled. Jackson made allegations in July 2002 that Mottola was a “devil” and a “racist” who did not support his African-American artists, using them merely for his own personal gain. He charged that Mottola had called his colleague Irv Gotti a “fat nigger“. Sony disputed claims that they had failed to promote Invincible with sufficient energy, maintaining that Jackson refused to tour in the US.

Six years after his last studio album and after spending much of the late 1990s out of the public eye, Jackson released Invincible in October 2001 to much anticipation. To help promote the album, a special 30th Anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden occurred in September 2001 to mark the singer’s 30th year as a solo artist. Holding him in his right arm, with a cloth loosely draped over the baby’s face, Jackson briefly extended the baby over the railing of the balcony, four stories above ground level, causing widespread criticism in the media. Jackson later apologized for the incident, calling it “a terrible mistake”.

Reports of financial problems for Jackson became frequent in 2006 after the closure of the main house on the Neverland Ranch as a cost-cutting measure. One prominent financial issue for him concerned a $270 million loan secured against his music publishing holdings. A new package proposed by Sony would have had Jackson borrow an additional $300 million and reduce the interest rate payable on the loan, while giving Sony the future option to buy half of Jackson’s stake in their jointly owned publishing company (leaving Jackson with a 25% stake). Jackson agreed to a Sony-backed refinancing deal, although details were not made public. Despite these loans, according to Forbes, Jackson was still making as much as $75 million a year from his publishing partnership with Sony alone.

Themes and genres

Steve Huey of Allmusic said that, throughout his solo career, Jackson’s versatility allowed him to experiment with various themes and genres.[175] As a musician, he ranged from Motown’s dance fare and ballads to techno-edged new jack swing to work that incorporates both funk rhythms and hard rock guitar. Michael, himself, stated at his pre-release party for his Off The Wall album that Little Richard (who inspired James Brown) had a “huge influence” on him.

Unlike many artists, Jackson did not write his songs on paper. Instead he would dictate into a sound recorder; when recording he would sing from memory. Several critics observed Off the Wall was crafted from funk, disco-pop, soul, soft rock, jazz and pop ballads. Prominent examples include the ballad “She’s out of My Life“, and the two disco tunes “Workin’ Day and Night” and “Get on the Floor”.

According to Huey, Thriller refined the strengths of Off the Wall; the dance and rock tracks were more aggressive, while the pop tunes and ballads were softer and more soulful. Notable tracks included the ballads “The Lady in My Life”, “Human Nature” and “The Girl Is Mine“; the funk pieces “Billie Jean” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’“; and the disco set “Baby Be Mine” and “<a title="P.Y.T.

Vocal style

Jackson sang from childhood, and over time his voice and vocal style changed noticeably, either through puberty or a personal preference to align his vocal interpretation to the themes and genres he chose to express. Between 1971 and 1975, Jackson’s voice “descended ever so slightly from boy soprano to his current androgynous high tenor”. In early 1973, the singer adopted a “vocal hiccup”, first heard in the song “It’s Too Late to Change the Time” from the Jackson 5‘s G.I.T.: Get It Together album. Jackson did not employ the hiccup fully until the recording of Off the Wall; its usage can be seen in full force in the “Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)” promotional video. The purpose of the hiccup—somewhat like a gulping for air or gasping—was to help promote a certain emotion, be it excitement, sadness or fear. With the arrival of Off the Wall in the late 1970s, Jackson’s abilities as a vocalist were well regarded; Allmusic described him as a “blindingly gifted vocalist”. At the time, Rolling Stone compared his vocals to the “breathless, dreamy stutter” of Stevie Wonder. Their analysis was also that “Jackson’s feathery-timbred tenor is extraordinarily beautiful. It slides smoothly into a startling falsetto that’s used very daringly”.1982 saw the release of Thriller, and Rolling Stone were of the opinion that Jackson was then singing in a “fully adult voice” that was “tinged by sadness”.

The release of “Bad” in 1987 displayed gritty lead vocals on the verse and lighter tones employed on the chorus. A distinctive deliberate mispronunciation of “come on”, used frequently by Jackson, occasionally spelt “cha’mone” or “shamone”, is also a staple in impressions and caricatures of him. The turn of the 1990s saw the release of the introspective album Dangerous; here Jackson used his vocals to intensify the split themes and genres described earlier. The New York Times noted that on some tracks, “he gulps for breath, his voice quivers with anxiety or drops to a desperate whisper, hissing through clenched teeth” and he had a “wretched tone”. When singing of brotherhood or self-esteem the musician would return to “smooth” vocals. “In the Closet” contained heavy breathing and a loop of five scat-sung syllables, whereas in the album’s title track, Jackson performs a spoken rap. When commenting on Invincible, Rolling Stone were of the opinion that—at the age of 43—Jackson still performed, “exquisitely voiced rhythm tracks and vibrating vocal harmonies”. Nelson George summed up Jackson’s vocals by stating “The grace, the aggression, the growling, the natural boyishness, the falsetto, the smoothness—that combination of elements mark him as a major vocalist”.

“Consciousness expresses itself through creation. This world we live in is the dance of the creator. Dancers come and go in the twinkling of an eye but the dance lives on. On many an occasion, when I am dancing, I have felt touched by something sacred. In those moments, I felt my spirit soar and become one with everything that exists. I become the stars and the moon. I become the lover and the beloved. I become the victor and the vanquished. I become the master and the slave. I become the singer and the song. I become the knower and the known. I keep on dancing and then, it is the eternal dance of creation. The creator and the creation merge into one wholeness of joy.
Steve Huey of Allmusic observed how Jackson transformed the music video into an art form and a promotional tool through complex story lines, dance routines, special effects and famous cameo appearances; simultaneously breaking down racial barriers.According to director Vincent Paterson, who collaborated with the singer on several music videos, Jackson conceptualized many of the darker, bleak themes in his filmography.

Before Thriller, Jackson struggled to receive coverage on MTV because he was African American. Pressure from CBS Records persuaded MTV to start showing “Billie Jean” and later “Beat It”, leading to a lengthy partnership with Jackson, also helping other black music artists gain recognition. The popularity of his videos on MTV helped to put the relatively young channel “on the map”; MTV’s focus shifted in favor of pop and R&B. Short films like Thriller largely remained unique to Jackson, while the group dance sequence in “Beat It” has frequently been imitated. The choreography in Thriller has become a part of global pop culture, replicated everywhere from Indian films to prisons in the Philippines. The Thriller short film marked an increase in scale for music videos, and has been named the most successful music video ever by the Guinness World Records.

In the 19-minute music video for “Bad“—directed by Martin Scorsese—Jackson began using sexual imagery and choreography not previously seen in his work. He occasionally grabbed or touched his chest, torso and crotch. While he has described this as “choreography,” it garnered a mixed reception from both fans and critics; Time magazine described it as “infamous”. The video also featured Wesley Snipes; in the future Jackson’s videos would often feature famous cameo roles. For “Smooth Criminal“, Jackson experimented with an innovative “anti-gravity lean” in his performances, for which he was granted U.S. Patent No. 5,255,452. Although the music video for “Leave Me Alone” was not officially released in the US, in 1989, it was nominated for four Billboard Music Video Awards, winning three; the same year it won a Golden Lion Award for the quality of the special effects used in its production. The offending scenes in the final half of the 14-minute version were edited out to prevent the video from being banned, and Jackson apologized. Along with Jackson, it featured Macaulay Culkin, Peggy Lipton and George Wendt.
I have here a new topic for this month. It is all about the same sex relationship…
Do you really know the history where the same sex relationship came from? Just click the video first that I have uploaded for you before reading my topic today.

Enjoy reading!!!

Gay History

History is written by the victors. They choose what will be remembered, and what covered up. So it has been with male eros. Looking at any history textbook, one would think that never has a society praised love between men, never has a painter, a poet or a pope shared his bed and his heart with another male. Evidence of same-sex love has been either quietly suppressed, as with the Greeks and Romans, or quickly destroyed, as is still done with newly unearthed Inca and Mayan art. The result of this deception has been a needless polarization of society and untold suffering for those people who happen to fall in love with others of their own sex.

Uncensored, the historical record reveals an opposite reality: the male love instinct is a universal constant. Death of Hyakinthos, Jean Broc, oil on canvas, 1801, Musée des Beaux-Arts,Only society’s attitude towards it has varied. All cultures have regulated male love, weaving varied tapestries of ritual around it. And a few have tried – to no avail – to regulate it out of existence.

As a rule, male love was part of the social and religious fabric. From the city states of ancient Greece and Rome with its emperors (Trajan and Hadrian among others), to the Siberian shamans and Native American two-spirit medicine men, from the African tribesmen to Chinese emperors and scholars, people the world over understood and made space for men’s vulnerability to the beauty of other males. They accepted that – whether married or not – men fell in love with men or youths, dreamt about them, wrote about them, fought over them, and took them to bed. And they usually understood that boy children were excluded from the game of love, to the same degree that they understood that girl children were excluded as well.

In Ancient Greece love between males was in many ways analogous to the marriages of the time, seen as equally important in the life of the individual, and enshrined in Greek mythology. Muhammad Qasim 1627 – Wine Pourer – Illuminated miniature of Shah Abbas I (1571-1629) of Persia, embracing his wine boy – Louvre, ParisIt was the cornerstone of a cultural tradition that 2500 years ago provoked the awakening of democracy, theater, philosophy, mathematics, history, and so on. Male love was thought to bring out the best qualities in a youth, especially manliness and courage. In warfare soldiers often fought side-by-side with their beloveds, as in the renowned Theban band; later, led by Alexander the Great and his boyfriend Hephaestion, the Greeks conquered the known world. Greece, of course, was no Utopia: prostitution and rape, often attended by slavery, were common.

In Japan, apprentice Samurai paired up with older warriors to be trained in love and war, and even the shogun had – besides his concubines – many boyfriends, their “nanshoku” loves recorded by writers and shunga painters who immortalized “shudo,” the Way of the Young. They likewise immortalized the hard lives of the “tobiko” or fly boys, traveling young kabuki actors who had to labor on stage by day and please their clients in bed by night.

In the Moslem lands, famous Iranian and Arab poets such as Hafiz i-Shirazi and Abu Nuwas praised and rued the charms of boys (whom they sometimes plied Miyakawa Choshun (1682-1753) – The Go Game – Individual panel from an shunga painting of silk done at the end of the eighteenth century, reprinted in The Love of Samurai, A Thousand Years of Japanese Homosexuality by Tsuneo Watanabe and Jun’ichi Iwatawith wine and seduced). Sufi holy men from India to Turkey sought to find Allah by gazing upon the beauty of beardless youths. Storytellers enshrined gay love tales in the Thousand and One Nights. Artists like Riza i-Abbasi amused kings and princes with exquisitely wrought Persian miniatures and calligraphies. Mullahs and censors railed against male love, but men of all walks of life, from Caliphs to porters, delighted in it and all looked forward to being attended by “unaging youths as beautiful as pearls” once in paradise.

In North America and Siberia, shamanic traditions dating back to the stone age recognized the special spiritual powers of those men and women drawn to same-sex love, as we still see in the Native American two-spirit tradition, which survives to this day.

In the pre-modern west, male love survived mostly underground, visible only when the lovers were unlucky enough to get caught, or when hinted at by artists brave enough to flout convention. Many writers, musicians, painters and poets depicted male love, but always in coded form:

Michelangelo, who adorned the Sistine Chapel with vibrant male nudes; Shakespeare, who serenaded his darling boy in his sonnets; Blake who railed against priests “binding with briars my joys and desires;” Whitman, who sang the body electric. The list of luminaries, artists, statesmen, men of the cloth, knights and knaves who felt the pull of male love – by itself, or alongside the love of women – is endless.

The big lie that same-sex love is “against nature,” a fiction which flies in the face of both Domenico Cresti (called Passignano) 1560-1638 – Bathers at San Niccolo – Private collection.biology and history, depends on censorship for its survival. We at the Androphile Project, gleaning the work of scholars in gay studies, aim to undo that censorship by publicizing gay love’s role in man’s spirit and culture: its successes, its failures, and the controversies it has given rise to over the millennia. We hope the prose and poetry, religion and mythology, art, philosophy and history collected here from around the world will serve to deepen understanding of male love’s place in human nature. As this is being written (winter 2004), it could also illuminate the growing debate about gay marriage, a tradition documented the world over for thousands of years, but nowhere as widely or as recently as in North America, where it was practiced and honored by many of the First Nations.

The documents gathered here are the footprints of the Gay Muse, who has inspired men and women on every continent since the dawn of time. They bear witness to the fact that male love is irrepressible. Where forbidden, it has prevailed over stonings, burnings, lobotomies, schoolyard homophobia, the gallows and the gaol. Where welcomed, it has openly blossomed into the highest achievements of the human mind.

The tips on how to have romantic sex with your wife are not hard to learn or difficult to implement. When in the mood for romance, women do not need expensive presents or movie props to create the same magic seen on the big screen when making love. All a husband needs to do is plan ahead and show his spouse that he still sees her as the irresistible woman that he married. Rekindle the passion in your marriage tonight.

How to be Romantic to your Partner?

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1
Find an overnight sitter if possible. Whether it be grandparents or a close friend, see if someone can watch the kids for the night. If that is not an option, plan a day with them at the park to tire them out so they sleep through the night and don’t interrupt your lovemaking session.

Step 2
Send your wife away. While you are preparing everything, have your wife leave for awhile for some time to herself. Whether it’s for a few hours at the mall or reading at the local coffee shop, tell her that you want her relaxed when she gets home. Give her a time that she needs to be back.

Step 3
Run a hot bath right before she’s due home. Sometimes the simplest things are involved when figuring out how to have romantic sex with your wife. Don’t forget to add her favorite bubbles or salts. Leave a large towel and her softest bathrobe for her, along with a glass of wine or champagne.. Tell her to sit back and relax and you’ll tell her when you’re ready for her.

Step 4
Light the candles in the bedroom. Every love scene needs soft lighting. Place candles around the bedroom to create a flattering glow.

Step 5
Put some romance music on before telling your spouse to come into the room, where you have another glass of wine or champagne waiting for her.

Foreplay

Step1
Rub your spouse’s shoulders while she is sipping her glass. Pull her robe down just enough where you can massage her shoulders and neck.

Step 2
Plant small kisses as you are massaging her to get her in the mood for making love. Have her tell you about her day as you get her more and more relaxed. Have her lie down on her stomach for a back massage after she finishes her drink.

Step 3
Undo her robe from underneath her and pull it down slowly, kissing ever inch of her shoulder blades, back and buttocks as you do.

Step 4
Give her a full body massage from the tips of her toes to her fingertips with warm oil, whispering compliments about how beautiful she is to you as you do.

Step 5
Continue with the type of foreplay that your spouse and you enjoy.

Making Love

Step 1
Continue foreplay for longer than usual, touching and kissing every inch of her body.

Step 2
Start in the missionary position so that you can have her look into your eyes when you finally enter her for sexual intercourse. This helps establish a deep connection.

Step 3
Tell her that you love her while you are still gazing at each other.

Step 4
Finish off your love making in the positions that you two enjoy the most.

Step 5
Enjoy a glass of wine or champagne with her afterwards. Hold her and talk openly about how much you enjoyed making love to her. This should open up the lines of communication for future ideas on how to have romantic sex with your wife.

Hi guys… Let me clarify one thing… It’s just about this My Little Blogsite.

Do you still remember the topic that I have posted on the 27th of May, 2009? Because, I mentioned there that thelifeofRyan is all about my personal life. If you can’t remember the said sentence, well, it’s not my problem anymore. Just kidding!

I just want to clarify, because there’s a lot of people around me who criticizes this My Little Blogsite. And as what I have heard, there’s one person who reacted too much about the things that I posted here especially the one that i posted on the 5th of June, 2009.

The reason why I posted that kind of thing is because I was really really upset that time and I just need to express my emotions, and anger or whatever I felt that time.

AND IT’S A NORMAL THING FOR US HUMANS TO DO THAT! Am I right?

It is just the same with our COUNTRYMEN who have their bad feelings to their leaders on which, they rather express their feelings by posting some comments on the website than going outside of the streets to make some rallies. Did you get my point?

As you can see at the top of my page, under the title of my blogsite, you can read the RYAN CARO’S DIARY… That only means, this blogsite of mine is my online diary! So whatever, I posted, you don’t have anything to do about it. Because I am the only one who have the right to post whatever topics that I wish to post here.

Just want to clarify also: I am not saying that your comments are not allowed on this site. It’s all welcome! As long as you will post it here and not in your own site or wherever it is, it will be posted here. Just stop complaining on your mama if you do have any complaints.

Don’t be CHILDISH? You’re not a child anymore! Don’t you know that? Duh!

Hi guys!!! Welcome back to my site! Were you able to read my previous post about Gift Check? I’m very thankful right now because that person who am I referring to is now ok with me. That person is Mommy Grace. Mommy Grace and me are now ok with each other…

We already talked about the nonsense rumors against me which are spreading here in my company. And you know what? The only person who is spreading that nonsense rumors, is the girl who I treated as a friend.

Guys, I just want to warn you about this lady who is just pretending that she’s nice person… Well, she’s nice. She’s really really nice. When she is in front of you, yes, she is! But, watch out!..

She could make some false stories or nonsense rumors against you when you’re not around.
She could mess up your life when you’re not around!
She could make your world down when you’re not around!

I had a friend before, I treated her as a great friend. But, I did the wrong thing. I should never make friends with her. She’s just a pervert, bitch, immature, and most of all… SHE’S A DEVIL BITCH!

My gosh! I didn’t nor never expected that she could make it to me.

Just to warn you again, never ever trust anyone, especially if you don’t know them well.

Let me give you a clue. Her initials are E M B. I don’t want to post her picture here even her full name. Have mercy on her please… Hahahaha!
